Zool430/430L Animal Physiology with Laboratory – a course in comparative physiology taught in a project-based manner.  Students design the physiological systems of an extinct vertebrate of their choice. The laboratory involves experiments in muscle, nerve, circulatory, and exercise physiology in vertebrate and invertebrate systems. Offered every Fall. Zool430 is Oral and Writing intensive, Zool430L is Writing intensive.

Zool710 Programming in R for Biologists – a course on programming in the R statistical computing environment for the purpose of data analysis. A 2 week bootcamp covers R syntax and language elements, followed by a course on programming, merging, matching, and indexing, vectorized calculations, some numerical methods, a short survey of statistical and graphical methods, and exposure to strategies for data analysis in various sub disciplines of Biology.
